Face Masks

I have had both oily and dry skin in the past. Traveling between hot and cold environments did not help my skin at all. I found that my skin was very dry in England and in Nigeria it was oily.  In the past year and a half or so, I have managed to control my skin so it is now pretty normal. To control my dry and oily skin I used some face masks which helped a lot. Here are a few of them and also some other face masks for other skin types.

Oily Skin

-3tsp banana, 1/2tsp honey, few drops of lemon juice. Form a smooth paste and leave on for 20 mins.

– 2tsp green tea, 1 tsp honey, 2tsp clay, 1tbsp aloe vera gel. Form a smooth paste and leave on for 15-20 minutes

– 3tbsp dry oatmeal, 2tbsp yoghurt, 1/2tsp honey. Leave on for 20mins.

Dry Skin

– Half ripe avocado, 2-3tbsp honey. Leave on for 10-15mins.

– 1tsp powdered milk, 1tsp honey, 1tsp aloe vera gel, 2drops of essential oil.

Oily/Combination Skin

– 1tbsp cucumber juice, few drops of lemon juice, 1 egg white and 1/2tsp clay. Mix together to form a smooth paste. leave on for 10-20 minutes.

Acne Skin

– 1/2 tsp lemon juice, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp clay, 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar. Leave on for 15 mins.

Sensitive Skin

– 2/3tbsp yoghurt, 2tbsp oatmeal. Mix and leave on for 10-15mins.

– 1 egg white, 1tsp dry oatmeal, 1tsphoney. Mix and leave on for 20mins.

At the moment I use the Origins active charcoal face mask once every 3-4 weeks and the Origins overnight mask 2 times a week. I will definitely recommend the overnight mask, it works wonders! Not so much the charcoal mask because it can make your skin very dry, especially if you use it often.
Tip: Drink loads of water!
